My brother went to court today and was granted full custody of his 6 year old son and gets every other weekend visitation with his ex's 2 kids from a previous relationship that he has fathered since they were babies. They don't even know their bio dad and think my brother is their dad. She also has to pay him child support for their 6 year old; not that she will but it's still ordered. She has been fighting all along until yesterday when my brother's attorney sent her an email informing her they were going to demand drug testing from both of them. She tried to get out of it by saying she couldn't because she just had surgery. She was told it doesn't matter that the technician can tell the difference between a prescribed med and an illegal drug. So, today when they went to court she relinquished all rights over to my brother. She still gets every other weekend visits with him but that's it. All because she was afraid to take a UA.
My brother is extremely happy but still wishes he could have his other two kids. But at least he still gets weekend visits even though they aren't legally his. I have a feeling at some point she will end up losing those kids as well since she is so unstable and clearly doing drugs. If she does my brother will step up to get them.
Just had to share. I'm so happy for him. It's not very often you see a single father fight so hard for his kids.

Congrats.... Was he married to her? If they demand drug tests anyway what are the chances the kids will be placed with him, since will probably have dirty pee?

Congrats to your brother. My only question is how are the other two kids going to feel? Daddy has little jake live with him but not sue and Alex? (I don't know there names I just made some up)

Congrats, too bad he didnt get the other two. Read stories on here how some men are ordered to pay CS on kids they didnt father bcause they were only father figure kids knew.
