Cosco Scenera for 4 Month old?

I am traveling across country alone with my son in April who will be 4 months old. He will be on my lap for the flight and I don't want to carry his car seat. It looks like the least expensive option is to order a Scenera and have it shipped to my aunt and uncle and let them keep the seat for my cousin's baby who is due in June. Any experience with this seat rf, is welcome.

You will need pool noodles or a towel to get the correct recline and read the manual!

I used that one on my youngest, and its a great basic seat.  It's easy to install, and works great.  I just had to really get in there with my knee to get a good install!

What they said. You'll need something like a rolled up towel or pool noodle to get the right incline, but it will work just fine for what you need. My oldest came home from the hospital in a scenera.

It will work good. We did it when we flew to CA from IN. It's lightweight and fit in the airplane seats. I wouldn't fly with my child on my lap. Just because it's legal doesn't make it safe. I guess your okay with your child being a projectile who am I to care.

My other option is to bring the car seat and get a snap and go or used stroller for the carseat. I am trying to figure out the easiest way to navigate the airports ( both very large) with him.

It's a perfectly safe seat once you get the right installation, which will probably require a pool noodle.  It is not safe, however, to fly with an infant on your lap.  That baby will become a projectile in the case of turbulence.  If you need a seatbelt, so does he.

No you dont, not in every car. I rf my daughter in it and the recline was perfect without anything.

I love how this comment went from helpful to snarky in 2.5

A few options: use a luggage strap or bungee cord to fasten his carseat to a wheely carry on bag, wear him in a wrap.  Requires the same hands that pulling a carry on would to begin with.

If you have an infant seat that is part of a travel system, put him in his seat, gate check the stroller.  This works better if (a) you're not bringing much carry on luggage and wheeling him is an option or (b) you have another adult so one can wheel bags and the other can push.

The two things you do NOT want to do are check your carseat as luggage, or fly with the baby on your lap.  Neither is a safe choice.
