DS has been saying for weeks that his body itches, he keeps scratching...I know it's not alleries b/c I've had him tested. I don't know what it is...I've tried Aveeno oatmeal baths, Aveeno lotion, Aquaphor, Neosporin anti-itch lotion...and so far, nothing has worked. He has no rashes or redness at all...I am stumped. I am bringing him to see a dermatologist tomorrow...I have no clue how to help him :(

DS has Eczema!!! He has always had these little bumps on his skin, especially on his cheeks, upper arms and thighs; however, before I switched his primary care doctor (b/c he was a moron)...he told me it was "Clogged pores"...so I believed him... I took DS today to the dermatologist and she said that it is a classic case of eczema. She said he is to take steroids for 2 weeks, a bath only every 3rd day for 5 minutes at a time with aveeno bath oatmeal, this prescription foam "lotion" twice a day, a special body and hair wash...I think was it...it's a lot :( poor kid...but at least I have an answer!

It could be an allergy that wasn't test, such as the soap he uses, what you wash his clothes in, etc.  Also, some people are just sensitive to things touching them.

Dry skin? I know my skin itches like crazy sometimes, like right now as a matter of fact, I just put some baby lotion on me & it seems to help. Plus I try to put some on whenever I get out of the shower.

Is it cold and dry where you are? I know in the wintertime when the air gets real dry my skin gets dry and I get itchy... It doesn't have to be flakey skin either for it to be dry and itchy... Usually only my hands get THAT dry in the winter, but some good hypoallergenic/fragrance free/dye free lotion usually works pretty good... When my hands get so dry they crack, anything with perfumes or dyes in it makes my hands burn.

It very well could be the new "soap" thing...I have for the past month or so used this body/hair wash on him, I think it's made by Suave...hummmm....

As far as laundry detergnt goes, I haven't really made much of a change in that...I don't know :(

DS does have little tiny bumps on his upper arms, thighs, and cheeks...he always has though...not really sure if that has anything to do with it...

And yes, it is dry and cold here...but this has never happened to him before...

of course it can still be an allergy. allergies can pop up at anytime, even if it's something you've used for a long time..

he could have sensitive skin, it could be anything.

is his skin dry?

It could be yeast. Antibiotics kill the flora in the intestines and then yeast can take over. It can cause allergies and itching is definitely a sign of that. Just a thought, it would depend on his history with antibiotics.
