yea we have some good parents but some take our kindness for granted. the mom didnt even offer an explination or nothing i guess she was just home and forgot to get her kid. so i sat there for almost a half an hour waiting for her, and not even a sorry i lost track of time, i was stuck in traffic or nothing! and she wasnt working cuz she works at crackerbarrel and comes in in her uniform every day when she egts her after work. and i think what makes me most upset was her not calling to let me know , im pretty reasonaible things happen but call!
When my child was in Daycare I remember there being a rule that you paid a certain amount of $ per minute that you were late. I forget how much but it was an amount that would add up fast. I think I was only late twice and both times it was unavoidable and I phoned to let them know. They never charged me because I was normally a good client, but with having that rule they could indeed charge the repeat offenders or the ones they knew just didn't care about them.
If you don't already have a late pickup fee clause in your contract, add one and enforce it. I charge $1/minute and have it in my contract that I will follow the clock next to my front door, so parents make sure they know what my clock says in comparison to their watches/phones and I rarely have late pickups.
