That i refer to dh's nephews and nieces as his and not mine? (Dh is 18 yrs older than me so all of them are all older than me exept two and they are only 2 years young and most have kids our childrens ages)

I kind of do that with DH's too.....its not because I won't claim them, but more because I don't see a lot of his family, so I've never really gotten close to them.  My family's around a lot more often & we only have 1 niece on my side (so far).

DH and I each have 1 brother....they each have 2 children...a boy and a girl (each).

To help with confusion...I refer to BIL's kids as DH's niece/nephew and my brother's kids as my niece/nephew.

We do that too. We've been married for four years and we're just now saying "ours" once in a GREAT while. I don't really think it's weird.

If that is your comfort leve, it is fine.  My guy is 21 years older so the nieces/nephews are my age or older.  2 asked to call me aunt and i agreed.  It is a sign or respect of place in family.  We arent married and his siblings call me their sister or sister in law.
