As many of you know, we received a notice to vacate our home on February 7th. The letter asked that we be out by March 7th. My landlord has also written me 2 more notices since then requesting I change my blinds (it's missing one small piece) and pick up toys in my yard (THAT IS NOT MINE BTW! It's a ball stuck in a tree). She has also called CPS on me (that investigation was over on Friday as soon as the caseworker came inside of my home).
Well I finally secured a lot in another mobile home park and we were approved for a mortgage of up to $37,333 earlier this week. We secured a storage unit so we just need to get a truck this weekend to put all of our stuff in it.
I had to get my landlord to fill out a form for the new mobile home park. She informed me today that we actually need to be out by March 2nd at the latest!!!!! THAT IS NOT A FULL 30 DAYS!!!!
I want to fight this! I really do but at the same time, I don't have time to fight this between my ridiculous school and work schedule and scrambling around town to get this shit taken care of. I have missed so much school as it already is...I don't need something else to take time and focus away from my responsibilities.
It seems like we keep hitting dead ends and obstacles. We won't have a home by then...we'll be couch-hopping with family until we secure a home. I'm trying to stay calm and positive but this is so hard. I am so angry.
End rant.

And if you're wondering why my landlord feels the need to do this to us. There are many reasons. We have rented from this place for about 5 years with no problems until when this landlord took up management about a year ago. Since then, our rent has increased $100, my SIL has been evicted, my FIL has received countless notices for stupid things and she has refused to fix a large majority of things in our home that we complain about.
Things like this do in fact happen to people. I feel I needed to add that disclaimer for those who don't know what is going on.
Did the landlord inform you in writing that you need to be out by March 2?
Is she prorating rent in March for you? If she wanted me out early, and it was possible for me to do so, I would require some sort of financial leniency or I wouldn't be out until March 7, which shouldn't it technically be March 8 since there is only 29 days in February?

Yes, it should be March 8th.
She put on the form that my lease will be terminated on March 2nd. So she didn't directly put it in writing to me but she did inform me verbally. She is going to prorate the rent for March 2nd.
I did ask her about prorating the rent until March 7th so she rang up the numbers, stopped and then told me we actually need to by out by March 2nd.
I know it's wrong. I know this is illegal. I just don't know if this is something I can fight financially, mentally and emotionally. I'm already missing enough school because of this stuff and we really need to use our money to get out of here.

Well that is totally up to you. If you NEED that time then I would encourage you to fight it. But, if not, then don't. Move out and wash your hands of this mess.

I am sorry you are dealing with this. You sound exhausted. Hugs
is there a court order telling you to leave or is it just her?
Quoting xXSoSincereXx:is there a court order telling you to leave or is it just her?
This is not an eviction. This is a notice to vacate. It does not require a court order since we are on a month to month lease and it does not require a reason to terminate our lease either. It's completely legal in Louisiana.

Yep, we just can't fight it right now. That is exactly what we are trying to do. Half of our home is packed up. I'm going to pack some more tonight.

Thank you...I am exhausted. I got 3 hours of sleep last night and I had to leave work early because I was throwing up (from stress). My professors all know what is going on and they understand why I cannot make it to class every day. My professors and some classmates have been really understanding with the whole situation. Our family has been as helpful as they can be and will allow us to stay with them.

Our landlord refuses to fix our leaky hot water faucet on our tub. It wouldn't be so bad because we don't pay the water bill, but its hot water and we pay the electric...ugh, dh has tried to fix it, but the landlord refuses to call a plumber
Exactly! I have a whole list of shit wrong with my house!!!
