Just open up the word processor and start typing.  That's what started it for me.  It has officially spanned over 1,000 pages since May 2010.

The only bad thing, for me anyways, is when I have an idea and it sounds great, but I cannot seem to translate idea to paper.

I have two separate Gorillaz fan fictions.  Each has 2 books and 3 short story collections, with one of them having an alternate tale and the start of its own short story collection, LOL.
