Before I start, I would like to say there are several members here who are very deep in their faith and how they live their lives. They are very much live and let live, never belittle or condemn, etc. I respect them very deeply. Just so you know, this post is not directed at those of you who have always been cool.
BUT, if you are one of those who feel that you need to shove your faith down our throats or take offense to any post that even so much as questions religion.....I have to question your core beliefs. If you truly believed, you wouldn't have the need to take shit personally, tear down others or act like you're a holier than thou zealot.
Yes, I said zealot. When you insist on condemning people for not believing as you do, take everything as a personal jab and literally freak out when someone even questions some of the hypocrisies your faith has in its teachings, I tend to believe you are nowhere near as certain in your beliefs as you claim.
Or you are just a nutter.
Insane in the membrane.
This will prob get deleted. I don't doubt it. BS will either shut it down, or the zealots I speak of will be so offended by getting the truth thrown in their face, they tattle.
This thread is not directed at anyone personally. Or maybe it is? I have encountered many through-out CM who behave in this fashion. It is not exclusive to one or two members.
Or maybe it is?
That is all.
*and on the off chance I get the boot, I do hope y'all will be awesome enough to harp on BS to let me back in*

Like that saying about penis and religion.
they are both great to have but don't shove it down our throats
I couldn't agree more. Take Jillbaily or Foo for instance. Both are awesome amazing Christians and lead a life that I look up to. Both are shining examples of what Christians should be. Now there are others that do the exact opposite and attract so much attention to their "cause" that they do irreversible damage to the reputation of Christianity that one who is questioning and wondering would be very turned off in regards to that faith.
Did my reply make any sence?? Oh well, I said what I thought!

They were 2 of which I was thinking of in my disclaimer, LOL.
You made perfect sense, I should add.

Why do people let others turn them away from something?
I guess I look at it this way, growing up I was attacked by a black person, almost kidnapped by a Hispanic, went to an inner city school where whites were the minority & most blacks I came across were racist.
If I judged a race by those people I would be turned off by all black people, which would really suck bc one of truest friends now is black:)
Shouldn't judge something bc of a select few.
There are bad seeds in all walks of life:(

I am trying to say that in some ways expressing your faith at all has become taboo and almost acceptable to mock. :( The worst is when believers attack other believers.
Now, if someone is being MEAN that's different. I don't mean debating but name calling etc. Thats not ok and really not following Biblical teachings.
Ok... Off my soapbox :)
some religious people really scare me.
some i respect because they display kindness and tact.
most scare me.
Just so ya know, it doesn't turn me away from the faith. I have no faith.
I just find it amusing that some nutters get so bent out of shape over simple posts or questions. Again, it makes me think that their core belief system is not as strong as they'd like people to believe.
But, uh...I won't talk about she who must not be named anymore so as not to get reported. :D
Quoting Ladywithtwo:
My only thing on this is sometimes people get offended when people express their faith at all. The other day Sweetfaith posted a pic saying Jesus is my hero. That was all she posted. She was torn to shreds for it! People were so mean even saying that she was shoving religion down people's throats.
