So I am thinking about getting a cat, and I told a friend this morning and she was like ewww no, cats carry infintago (sp?)

ummmm what is that, and is she right?

Any animal can carry impetigo. It is a skin infection typically caused by a bacteria entering a cut or scrape.....

I also want to say that I have had cats and dogs my whole life, and never had it. It is really common in pre-school children though.....it is usually not serious and clears up on it's own most of the time

Sounds like your friend just hates cats. I love my cat. I've always had cats and they are great in my opinion. Some people just don't like them. I have a friend that is terrified of cats. Lol. If you want a cat then get one. Just make sure you take it to a vet to make sure its healthy and for check ups and shots and you'll be fine.

There are plenty of other reasons to dislike cats besides that, and any animal could have it, so....

I'm a crazy cat lady and I have yet to get that. Cats are awesome sometimes they suck but for the most part awesome!
