Toy repair emergency!!!

DD's long time BFF Mr.Teddy Bear (thats his name) has been sick. We have to send him to the Toy DR to get his music box fixed (He is a vintage wind up teddy too). She loves the new bear (light brown one) and carries them both together all over the house. She keeps bringing Mr. Teddy bear (dark brown one) up to me saying "He boken mommie". She keeps giving him kisses and saying "All better?". It made me so sad to hear her say that at bed time every night so I got her a stand in until Mr.Teddy Bear is fixed. I am waiting for the Toy DR to send me a quote. Anyone had a toy repaired before? What did it cost and how long did it take?

Thanks!

The dark brown one is the one thats broken. The light brown one is the new one I ordered her (also a wind up) to distract her till the other one is fixed. They are both vintage wind ups.

Mr.Teddy Bear is very special, and irreplaceable. When I was single and struggling, living in a DV shelter (before I found a good job) - we lost everything. All of her toys were gone but 1 bag. When we moved across the country alone, the bag of her toys got left at a gas station on accident. She only had a few and a very special toy was in the bag. Lost forever. Well I was looking on Craigslist for free toys and we found the teddy bear for free. Someone was moving and left a bunch of stuff behind. They just put it in boxes and left it outside. The teddy bear was there and I took it home and cleaned it up for her. She loved him so much and has been sleeping with him ever sense then.

I have no idea what I'd do if something happened to our beloved Berry in our house.  He is DS's constant companion...  Good luck...

You might have to do "surgery" to remove it and then look in your local phone book or online to see if anyone does music box repairs. Good Luck!

Aw! I hope you can get him fixed! My daughter had a bff named Hobbies she would sleep with. She used to rub his tail on her hand at bed time and we cannot find him anywhere.  She doesn't ask for him anymore but I really wish I could find him to put him up for later! Good luck getting him fixed!

We have no local toy repair shops. Anyone have one they would recommend?

Nope sorry I have no ideas on any good toy shops. Maybe just use google. I hope you can get it repaired soon.

Check and see if you have a local, small town jewelry store with a licensed jeweler and see if they may be able to fix it. Otherwise as was mentioned google for music boxes and see...maybe you can find one which plays the same song or someone who repairs them nearby.
