If you were me ; Would you have your child sleep in the recliner?

My son is getting over a cold.   Last night in the middle of the middle of the night my son started chocking in his sleep on the mucous that is coming up from his cough.  Got him to the bathroom and he ended up being okay spitting/ throwing up the mucous.  Right now my ds is in his bed and I can hear him coughing .. He is almost over this bug but when he lays flat he starts to cough.  I feel like it would be weird.  But if you were me would you bring your child to sleep on the recliner in the family room. bc that way they would not be flat on their back? Anyone done this with there lo when they had a bad cough????

you can put something under the top half of the bed to elevate his head but yeah the recliner could work as well.

Definitely the recliner. I have crazy sinuses and recliners always help me drain peacefully and with minimal agitation to my throat and nose.

Lol! It's good you're worried. Just remember not to let him recline too much (45 degree angle. Not totally upright, but not flat either if you can help it with his feet up). Put his fitted sheet, pillow, and comforter on the recliner. The old school vicks humidifiers help too. He should clear up in no time. And I'm guessing he has a cough too...the humidfier helps with coughs too. But if it's not a vicks one that fine just some vicks on the chest and a regular humidifer will do. But if you don't have one...invest now...sinus stuff doesn't go away. But if you prep now it makes everything easier down the road. And hot lemon water helps too. Heat, water, and elevation do wonders for clearing up the sinuses (long story short lol)

My dd was going the same thing.... she was coughing so bad she had nothing but mucus in her mouth.. I called the nurses hotline and they made her an appt. And her dr put her on cetrizene it has worked wonders. My dd also has asthma and that's the main reason it was happening. So make sure u have them check for that

If they still sell them, you could also look into a childs backrest pillow, the type that have arms and typically used to read books in bed.  DD has been snoring really bad these few days due to a cold.  TG she hasnt had the vomiting again.
