Is your child sensitive?

My 6 year old (almost 7 now.. omg!) has always been soooooo sensitive. I remember when the OxyClean guy died, she cried for weeks. No joke. I thought she was getting better about it, but then Michael Jackson died and she cried (not quite as bad). Today we are taking Isis to get spayed and when she found out that it was surgery, she cried and said "NOOOOOOOOO!!!".

She is VERY sensitive and VERY dramatic (was the star in the school play! lol).

Anyone else have a kid like this? How do you help them cope?

Hes been in speech since he was 4 so this is his last year but hes having problems understanding what hes reading so they dont know if he will pass not sure if he can handle that. If we joke with him he gets upst. Hes loud at home but very sensitive. Hope urs grows out of it to

Awww :( That is how Grace was for the longest time, she didn't "get" jokes. She's learning, slowly but surely. :)

My son is very sensitive and he is a worry wart.

He is always so worried about other people. It's very sweet but I don't want it to consume him like that. He already bites his nails. : / He's only 5.

I guess I dont call it sensitive. I call it dramatic.... My dd is very much dramatic. Which seems to be exactly as you describe yours.

I have one of those too. He doesn't cry over the death of strangers but let someone bad mouth his pets and it's as if the world has ended. Part of his problem is that he is perpetually sleep deprived. He has RLS along with a few other sleep disorders.

Yes he was such a HAM and he is sensitive - although not quick to cry over everything, he feels things a lot.

I remember when he was like 7 there was a homeless man at 7-11 and I said sorry I have no change and we got int he car, and he reached down inthe ash tray where we kept the change and ran back out and gave it to him and said "Mother he has no home we dont need the quaters"

yes he often referred to me as mother - still does sometimes LOL

I am very pleased with this side of him, since I can directly relate to it.

He is SO much like his father in looks and manners - I sometimes wonder if he's my kid at all and things like that - warmed my heart.

And he was RIGHT
