Worth a call to the doc's office...i bled for 8 weeks pp and when my period resumed 8 mos later, it was really weird and the doc told me that abnormal is normal after having a baby. It is still worth a call though.

Its not really a period unless its 8 or more weeks pp.

Call the doc. You might have some retained tissue.

I'd call the doctor just in case...better safe than sorry.

Shortly after my daughter was born, I started having crazy periods. They'd last for 2 weeks, go away for a week, then come back for another 2 weeks. I was going through a super plus tampon every 2-3 hours for every day of the 2 weeks that I'd bleed. I had quarter sized clots. I had symptoms of anemia and blood loss. It lasted for 6 months like that =/ Doctor couldn't find a reason and said it was hormones. I've been pretty regular since.

It's possible that this is your body's way of telling you to slow down. You're doing too much and you need to rest.

However, clots are normal. As long as they are not the size of a baseball, you have no reason to worry. That is what my midwife and OB told me.

I had one the size of a tennis ball after I had my first child. I thought I was dying.
