There is a Denny's right by our house. We have only been 3 times because each time the service sucked and we were like "not going back there!". We wanted to give them another chance so I took the girls there for breakfast this morning. Our server came to take our order, and when she suggested certain platters I said no thank you.. she kept going so I said "we are vegetarians" and she was like "ohhhh!" so she left it alone.
We ordered.
Another server brought my food out, and it had HAM in it. I was like, hmm, what's this?? The server said "You requested no sausage on your skillet, it's ham". I said "Oh I didn't know ham came on it?" She said "Yep" and walked off.
Ummm. No. I'm not eating HAM.
So I asked the other server for a menu, to see if I messed up or if they did. Sure enough, my skillet was an ULTIMATE skillet. The cook made me a MEAT LOVERS skillet. How you mix the two up is beyond me.
Then the cook and other server YELLED at our server! For THEIR screw up!!
Then they made my order again.
And screwed it up.. again.
No effing way, right?
So they yelled at our server again. At that point I had had enough. I told our server to get the manager. She did, and explained what was going on. The manager came over and said "Sorry about the mix up, I've taken $3 off your tab as a courtesy".
Come again?
My meal was $8, it was screwed up twice AND I was treated like crap, and as a "courtesy" you're taking off THREE dollars? Nope.
Long story short, I got him to take my entire meal off my tab. He offered to give us our meal for free but I insisted on paying for theirs. I didn't want FREE food, I just wanted MY food and wanted to be treated decently.
At the same time, another guy was yelling about his order being wrong. He just walked out instead of paying for any of it. Our server thanked me a million times for sticking up for her. Apparently they treat her like this often. :(
Okay, so that was long.. sorry lol. I just felt good for sticking up for our server because she was obviously the "little guy" and used to being shit on. I'm also proud of myself for being relatively calm even though they were rude. My girls were just in shock the whole time lol.
The cook was bitching about her day being horrible already. Ummm not my fault or my problem!!
Ugg. I hate places like that. Glad you stuck up for your waitress.
Our Dennys is awesome! They never get our order wrong. Now watch, next time we go it will be all screwed up lol. It seems really wierd that they would give a vegetarian a meat lovers skillet.
How do you know it wasn't your server's fault the first time though? She could have put the order in wrong to begin with. Either way it is unprofessional to yell at an employee in front of customers though.

I felt SO bad for her. :( She was an older lady, too. I couldn't believe how they were treating her. They weren't young or anything - they were probably in their 40s - but she was 60ish. And she did EVERYTHING right. THEY were the ones that kept screwing up. I was so pissed. Then the dumb manager thinking that taking $3 off my order when I never even got the right food was okay. SMH.
mmmmm that makes me want Denny's now......thanks a lot lol Good for sticking up for her! I HATE assholes like that that think it's the server's fault when the cook was the one being a dumbass....stupid people.

She didn't put the order in wrong. I saw the ticket. It said "ULTIMATE SKILLET NO SAUSAGE ONIONS PEPPERS". They made a meat lovers skillet. Then they made a western skillet. Plus I heard her put the order in, right next to us.

And this is the only Denny's I have EVER had problems at. The manager is an IDIOT.
