No Jesus is no happiness?

Why does it seem that all these Christians in my life seem to think I am unhappy because I am not Christian? I am getting very happy now that I can worship freely in my own home again. I cant escape them, though. The most recent thing is my mom gave me a book. I assumed it was a self help book. My sister read it a bit to me while we were driving home. Its a FIND JESUS TO MAKE YOU HAPPY book. My sister, who is Christian, kept laughing too hard to keep reading. Why in the world cant these people just let me be who I am? I dont need Jesus to be happy. I am getting there just fine with my own path. My mom wants me to finish this book and really follow it. My grandma sent me some books on how to bring my children to Christianity for their good... How do I make them stop? I dont want to read this book, either. What do I tell her?

Because many of them are so absorbed in their faith that they can't imagine how anyone could possibly be happy without the same thing.

I get it all the time, as a non-believer. Just the other day someone said, "I would kill myself if I were you" simply because some people do not believe in God and Jesus.

Jesus is just a cozy little blanket to hide under from reality. Happiness is made by each individual not granted by God or his son.

Since it's your Mom and Grandma, I would just take the books but maybe politely say, I have enough reading here to last a long time. No more books please. My Grandma did the same thing and she is no longer here. I miss her.

This reminds me of the Baptist Youth Pastor that lives down the street... he came "visiting" with the churches senior pastor and after they quized me on the ten commandments ( I guess to see where I was at in my faith) they told me I was going to hell because I was living with my bf! LMAO I think you have to just take it with a grain of salt... I'm a Christian and much rather prefer to find my own path with God and not have every Christian in the world telling me how to do it... Opinions are like @ss holes ya know.

I assume they're just worried about you. You need to be firm and tell them how you have come to your decisions and why you're happy with them. I think if they see that you are confident in your choices, they will back off. If not, tell them you don't want to hear about Jesus again.

I can't tell you how many books my dad sends to DH and I. It's my dad, so we just smile, say thanks, and set it aside. He and my stepmom sent us a cross at Christmas...I laughed and said "What am I supposed to do with this?" I packed back in the Christmas box next to the Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus they sent us years ago. Like someone else said...take it with a grain of salt.
