Do you take your kids to the baby-sitter when they are sick?

Just curious. I am baby-sitting my friends baby today. When she dropped him off at 4:30 am she said he hadnt felt well all night or yesterday. Well it is now almost 11. He hasnt had a wet diaper, and refused to drink anything. I let her know of this. I am not complaining because I can handle it (I am a nurse) and I think she realizes this. But I would never drop my kid off sick at a sitters because most of the time it makes baby feel better when mommy is around. What about you?

No, DD doesn't go to school when sick, so if she had a babysitter, she wouldn't go there either.

i agree! i am sahm, but up until recently i was watching an infant. he came sick more than once. it was weird to me. the parents were sick once when the baby was. they stayed home, but brought him to me so they could rest.

I dont use a sitter. But I guess it would depend on how sick. If they were just kind of bummy but no fever or throwing up then yes I probably would. Also i would still send them with sniffles but not a bad cough. Moms that have to work cannot take off for every runny nose. I used to work and if my son was legit sick then no I wouldn't send him.

Sick kids stay home. Period. End of story.

It is incredibly rude and selfish to expose anyone else to their germs.

1 mom liked this

It would depend on how sick, and what was mandated at my work or my wasbunds work (back when we used a sitter)  Since all of my kids had the same babysitter and were with her from infancy, they were quite quite comfortable with her.

My kid stays home. However I wish the sitter would inform us in advance her kids are sick. I am tired of having a sick kid. I'd keep him home and miss work. He just got over rsv and is on antibiotics for a double ear infection. I'm not angry just wish she'd of informed us when her kids are sick.
