This is scary!!!! My son will not be walking by himself to school anymore!
School officials in the Southwest part of the valley are warning parents of a possible child predator.
A man in a silver PT Cruiser has reportedly been lurking around elementary schools and possibly trying to lure kids into his car.
Metro says the police report detailed the man in the silver PT cruiser around the schools for no apparent reason.
The report does not mention that man luring any kids.
But principals at schools in the area sent out a note to parents saying that luring may have happened and they want everyone on high alert.
"It's scary," said parent George Psenicnik. "My wife called me immediately because she got the text on her cell as well. You just freak out over something like that because my son, we don't live too far from the school, and he's walked home on several occasions. Now, not at all. It's just scary."
Metro stresses that it's important that parents talk to their kids about stranger danger.
Tell them to always walk with others and never get into a stranger's car.
Emphasize if they don't know the person to run and find the nearest trusted adult, telling them what happened.
The Clark County School District police says they will beef up patrols in the southwest area before and after school Friday.
