I have a friend who has 3 kids and only takes a shower before leaving the house. Thats totally cool and it works for her. She has her DH that can help her with the kids while she showers and what not. I don't like to leave my kids unattended while I shower. I am going out with her tomorrow morning and I have to get the kids and myself ready. I am not going to have time to shower in the morning so I like to shower the night before. gives me time to do other things like gove over the diaper bag, make sure the kids aren't missing anything, put on a little bit of make up so on and so forth. I set up a lot the night before. Tomorrow morning I also have to give the kids a quick washing because I didn't bathe them tonight due to other things like my bath tub not working so DD has to shower with me and I wanted to be able to take a read shower and DS wasn't feeling well so I wasn't going to bathe them together tonight but I also forgot. DS is feeling better so I will probably bathe them together tomorrow to save time. So I am not going to have time to shower.
Well we were talking earlier in the evening because I needed her advice on something and I told her I had to go so that I could take a shower and she starts going on about butt crack stink. I have never heard no smelt someones butt stink becuase they didn't shower that day. I mean she is anal about it. She has talked to me about it before but she has always understood that I don't always have the time to shower that day and has never complained of smelling anything on me. I have always done it this way to save time plus I don't like the idea of getting into bed dirty.
The way she was talking about it tonight though was like she would be almost embarresed by me if I didn't shower the day of. We are going to the women's fellowship group at our church, I have yet to go, She attends every thursday and I have been wanting to go.
So anyways, what time do you shower? Do you agree with her or are you like?

When ever I get a chance. When my kids were younger at night after they are in bed. But they are 4 and 6 so they are okay for 15 mins while I shower.

DS is 4 but DD is 15 months. So I like to do it while she is sleeping at night. I try to take advantage of nap time to get stuff done around the house and spend some time with DS or some "mommy" time
I like to take a shower right before I go somewhere. If I'm not leaving the house, I'll put the shower off till after the kids are in bed. I feel like I'm greasy after I wake up, so I feel like I *have* to shower before I go anywhere. Yes, that means my kids are unattended for a little bit, but in all honesty, they generally hang out in the bathroom while I'm showering anyway.

I can't leave them unattended because DD will either crawl into the bathroom and start pulling things out of the drawers and start flushing the toilet, or start pounding on the glass of my shower door screaming and crying. If she decides to get in to stuff DS will follow in her lead since he thinks she wont get in trouble for it. She does, just not in the same way as he will since he is 4 and she is 1.
