should a woman sacrifice herself to be a mom?

What are you willing to and not willing to sacrifice to be a mom? Should you have to sacrifice at all? Example: let's say you LOVE your job but it takes to much time away from the kids, do you quit? Just a random example. Im sure y'all know more.

There are some things you do sacrifice, but you shouldn't have to sacrifice yourself as a person.

A happy mom raises happy kids. If you sacrafice yourself, you will soon turn bitter. I am a firedancer, and while I would give it up if there was a severe need, I.E. one of my kids got really sick like cancer and needed me, I know I would soon be going insane.

I would give up anything for my child. Her health, happiness and life are my driving force. I have given up a lot of things that seemed vital before she came a long. Now I don't remember why I ever thought the things mattered in the first place.

I'm sacrificing a job with great potential to be home pregnant for good.  I also sacrifice my privacy for my boys when they want to use my bathroom as a theater...  Yeah, there's no such thing as a private moment anymore!

I think one of the most incredible things about being human is we have the power of choice. A mom can choose what she is willing to give up for sake of motherhood. Granted women tend to give up more than men to be a parent but as long as she doesn't lose herself or learns to expand her identity, then those choices are pretty worthwhile, IMO.

lets see sleep, money, time alone with my hubby,my figure while pregnant, my sanity  teenagers, everything it takes to home school all eight of them. But in the end it is all worth it there is nothing better in life than seeing them thrive.
