Wal-Mart has been subject to criticism by various groups and individuals. Among these are some labor unions, community groups, grassroots organizations, religious organizations, environmental groups and Wal-Mart customers. They have protested against Wal-Mart, the company's policies and business practices. Other areas of criticism include the corporation's foreign product sourcing, treatment of product suppliers, environmental practices, the use of public subsidies, and the company's security policies. Wal-Mart denies doing anything wrong and maintains that low prices are the result of efficiency.

If we boycott Walmart we are screwed because it's all we have.  The local grocery start charges twice as much.  Wal-Mart maintains low prices as best they can.  And they usually treat their employees well.

Walmart is a big bully.  My husband is a grocery vendor.  Walmart controls everything he does.  The other stores don't mean anything.  I hate Walmart!

This made me laugh because his entire family is the same way. For example, everyone's car is American. God forbid you mention Honda.. you must duck for cover immediately, lol.

Quoting Camey82:

Oh I totally understand. My dad is with IBEW. His parents were with GMC. My dad always bought American and said "American made products put a roof over my head and food on my table!"

Quoting cherryohcherry:

I married into a family of carpenters and electricians, and they are very pro union. That's probably the biggest reason why Walmart is absolutely taboo for our family.

Quoting Camey82:

Mine is a union welder/sheetmetal worker

Quoting mommybug77:

so  is mine & we do not shop their at all.

Quoting madsmom314:

My husband is a union pipefitter
