*Edit 2*

Here are some links that lapetitmama found for us. This is way more than I have been able to find and it is wonderful I wanted to share them for all the other curious mamas.

*Edit*

I feel there are some things that need to be clarified I guess.

I DID NOT SWITCH ROSIE, DH ALSO DID NOT SWITCH OUR RAT!

Her skin started to get dark almost blue where the dark hair grew about a week before the change.

This happens in what little I have found happens in PATCHWORK rats. Which is what I am wondering if she is.

Also, I don't feel the need to fight or have to defend myself over my pet ra....t it's silly!

I came here because I know you guys are great at finding things on the Internet and some might be able to help with there knowledge.

We got my daughter a rat because we hear they made great pets well anyways she was a hairless rat and her name is A Rosie.

I had to have surprise surgery last week so Miss Rosie was left alone to days at a time while DH was with me in the hospital.

In the last two nights our hairless rat GREEW HAIR!

She looks like a completely different animal.

I have tried to find anything on the Internet as to how a rat could grow a full coat of hair seemingly over night and have found little to nothing.

I have found a little about Patchwork rats and i think they might do this but little info on them.

Any knowledge and and/or a bump would be awesome
.....I know how good you moms are about finding things on the internet.

Rosie Before I left for the hospital...

Rosie now!

Hairless doesn't mean totally hairless, as most people think.

I will advise that you need to get her a second rat. They are extremely important to keep in pairs as they can die from loneliness and us humans can't give them all the time that they need for companionship.
