Government cell phones

I have a question for anyone who may know. My mom got her cell phone shut off. She is in her 60's she has a home phone but doesn't have much money. She was able to get a job but it is an hour away from where she lives she needs a cell phone for emergencies just temporarily. I don't have a phone on my own plan so I can't help her. Where can she get a government cell phone? It would only be for a month then she can pay her bill. What are the requirements? Thanks guys please no bashing.

If she only needs it for a month it wouldn't do much good. Shed be able to pay her buk before the thing comes in the mail. But if she needs it in the future she can get one if she is on any kind of PA or has medicare. Go to safelink.com or assurancewireless.com. There are more. Just google them.
