The debate about whether or not Ann Romney "understands" the struggle of the "average" mother is starting to piss me off. She is a mother like anyother. Yes, she has lots of money. Yes, her situation is priviledged. But did she not have to take care of 5 kids with a politician husband? Did she not have to do the same things every mother does (ex. pay bills, put gas in the car, get groceries, find child care, pick schools, pack lunches, etc.)? SAHMs worl just as hard as "working" moms and I will stand by that statement until after I die. Being a mother is hard whether you work a "real" job or not. Being a SAHM does NOT mean you don't understand the financial situation this country is in. It doesn't take negate the fact that you have the same worries and concerns that the "average" mother has. Because, believe it or not, people don't get to where they are overnight. Even SAHMs are concerned with the job market and public assistance. And I would even say just as much as "working" moms.
This debate was created to divide the female vote and distract from real issues. We need to come together as a community of women and defend our values and interests.
