For those of you who have lost a lot of weight...
How did you do it? I need to loose a signifigant amount of wieght. DH has also expressed the desire to loose weight and we want the kids to be healthier (none of them are overweight). So what worked for you, or someone you know? Thanks!

Well if you consider 20 lbs alot...
I just limited the fast food to once a week and would only get the burger and I tried to drink more water and a little less soda.
Then I went on an hour long walk at a nature trail 4ish times per week and I lost 2 lbs every time. Lost 20 in two months.
Interesting...are you still doing that now?
Quoting mysticalmalissa:Just under 2 years and NO I didnt eat healthy or really do much of anything. (LOL I'm lazy)
I really didnt change what I ate at all, I just ate a LOT less and started to use a smaller plate. I did cut out soda and changed to non-fat creamer for my decafe coffee. Thats about it.
Quoting darbyakeep45:Wow! How long did it take you? Were you also eating healthy, exericising, etc.?
Quoting mysticalmalissa:I lost 120 pounds just by drinking ice water, lots of it.
The ice water lowers your body temp and when it heats itself back up it burns calories.
No :/ Ive gained back some of it, but not all, but its all good =)

I had gastric bypass (rNy) in 2009 and got to my goal weight of 155 within a year. I did slack of a bit last year and gained back 26 lbs, so I've been going to Weight Watchers (started in January) and have almost lost 18, so not to far from my original goal weight, but I am planning to lose about an additional 10 on top of that. I've learned to eat better through them, but I admit I still need to build my activity level up a bit.
I lost 57 lbs and over 50" off my body by tracking my calories, eating a balance of lean proteins, whole grains, tons of produce, low fat dairy, drinking 1/2 my weight in water, and working out 6 days per week.
How much water did you drink? Did you drink anything else? Did you cut out soda?
