The house next door to my mothers (where we are living for $1000 a month for everything) is up for rent $420 a week so around $1680 a month, 4 bedroom, 2 bath, double carport, huge yard and pets allowed. SO brings in $2528 a month until June when his contract is up and he will go back to causal with no set amount. I bring in $740 a month.

GOING MONTHLY -

All up our income is: $3268

Rent alone is NOTHING ELSE INCLUDED!: $1680

Leaving us to pay for everything else (Food, bills ect): $1588

ETA:

Im in Australia and that the AVERGE price for a 4 bedroom house lol WE HAVE VERY HIGH RATES IN EVERYTHING! you cant even get a townhouse here with 2 - 3 bedrooms for less then $300.

That's a lot of money.... How much do you spend on other things at the moment, that's what matters. But that's a huge proportion of your income.,

not a chance in hell. We rented a house that was $1600/month when DH was making around what you guys make together and we couldn't keep up with it and all the bills and food and gas and everything else we needed. You should never pay more than 30% of your monthly income to rent/mortgage. We pay $905 and we've been here two years now. Not one single problem.

Also if the rent is by the week,  and not te month (as you originally put it) your yearly cost isn't  12x the monthy ly cost or 20,160  it is 420x52 or 21,840.
