Why is it that people feel the need to use GD?

Why can't they just say damn or damned without adding God in front of it? I find it very disrespectful. Surely I'm not alone on this.

No you're not alone but it is a habit these people have. I over look it unless its excessive, then I tell them to shut it!

Well, I'm an atheist so I don't use "God" in any terms.

I dont say it simPly because f*ck is my choice word...I don't really see why people get all bend out of shape because of it. They are just words...and to me, it means that when you say it, you are wanting god to damn something.

I watched the dove awards last night and while they didn't say God damn, they used Gods name in vain a few times. (Hosts did)

another time the people presenting the awards were joking around and the female was playing dumb and the male said Oh lord Jesus..

I thought that was odd.

Because they don't find it disrespectful.

I use it in my own home from time to time. But I make a conscious effort to never say it in front of people bc they might be offended.

Why should it offend you what others chose to say?

Would you rather not be able to say anything that offended anyone ever? In that case, saying people will go to hell for not sharing your beliefs is offensive to many people, and you shouldn't say that either.
