is it wrong to spray another person's cat?

I just found out that my kitten is in heat and I have scheduled her an appointment to get fixed next week. (earliest they could do) but this black male cat keeps hanging around my yard and of course I know why but I need to keep him away from her. Is it wrong for me to spray him with water from my squirt bottle to try and keep him away since he is not my cat?

No I don't think so, it's not like you're killing him.

Nope.

I own a couple of cats that go in and out of the house . . .

I have told BOTH of my neighbors, "If you see them in your yard and they bother you, feel free to spray them with the hose."

Water doesn't hurt cats.

Now, if someone was poisoning or trapping . . . we'd have massive issues.

Nope!! I don't see anything wrong with doing that. Its not like you are going out to hurt the cat. Most cats learn REAL FAST to stay away when they get sprayed with water. Good luck!!

Why not keep your cat inside?

I can just see one of my neighbors going off on me or something because I am squirting their cat.
