I didnt see it happen but my aunt was murdered in our house and we came home and found her in the kitchen. I was 5 at the time. She was shot like 5 times and there was blood everywhere. Her husband did it and then he shot himself in the head in our living room. She was staying with us because she left him and had nowhere else to go. It happened while my parents and I were out at a restaurant having dinner. I have ptsd due to that and a few other things.

Yes, a few years ago I was sitting on my porch with my son, talking to my neighbor. Her 17 year old grandson came home and joined us in the convo...about 15 mins later two guys walked up and shot the grandson right in front of me, her and my son. I can't remember much after that but I do recall dialing 911. He died on the way to the hospital. That night still haunts me. Its not an easy thing to get over but it does get easier day by day...hugs mama.

1 mom liked this

I feel so bad for her daughter, she lost her mom and granddad at the same time. The woman's ex husband took the little girl up to where the mother was laying and let her see her mother like that.. I pray someone saves that little girl from such a screwed up family.

Police have confirmed that one woman is dead after a shooting outside a Wal-Mart Morgantown.  The suspect, her father in law, is in jail after several customers charged him, and held him down until police arrived on scene.

At around 9:45 Saturday morning, police responded to a reported shooting at the Wal-Mart off of Interstate 68. That's where they found a large group of people surrounding the victim of that apparent shooting. The victim is identified as 29 year old Shannon Stafford of Bruceton Mills, who is also known as Shannon Mitchell. The suspect in the shooting has been identified as 54 year old Larry Mitchell of Shinnston.

"It appears Mitchell confronted Stafford as she was pulling into the parking lot and he shot her several times as she sat in the vehicle. Stafford exited her vehicle as Mitchell continued to fire until she fell and collapsed," said Chief Ed Preston of the Morgantown Police Department.

Police said Mitchell's son is Stafford's estranged husband, and that the pair have a young daughter together. They believe an ongoing domestic dispute was the motivation for the shooting. They said Mitchell returned to his truck after shooting Stafford, and a group of 3 to 4 people subdued Mitchell until police arrived.

"Well, he was basically admitting to it, the shooting, and once we got over there, we ordered him on the ground and we tried to tell him to be quiet and soon after that police showed up," said David Frischknecht, who subdued the suspect.

"Their heroics are greatly recognized and appreciated. We don't advise people to apprehend anybody, but this is one of those cases where who knows where we'd be if they had not done that," said Chief Preston.

Police said Stafford was meeting a family member at the store, but that it was not Mitchell. The store was put on lockdown for a short time. Those inside said everyone stayed calm.

"I was in the dressing room and a woman came running back that a lady had just run in with her children and there was a man out in the parking lot shooting, and they were locking the store down, no one was allowed in or out. No body seemed to really know that it was going on, so everyone was kinda walking around like normal," said Cherie Johnson, who was inside the store.

Mitchell has been charged with murder and is being confined at the North Central Regional Jail.

Chief Preston said that the Medical Examiner's Office will be performing an autopsy on Shannon Stafford Monday.  He also says several interviews are lined up and he expects the investigation to last several weeks.

.That happened at my work this weekend. I dont think I will ever forget it. I was one of the workers that covered her body so no one could see her.
