So should a spouse have to give permission for abortion? (Not asking if they should discuss it , I am asking if his permission should be legally required.)

why /why not?

That's nothing like giving a rapist rights to a child conceived through said rape. This situation concerns a husband and wife.

Quoting i_lovedyoufirst:

That's like saying a rapist rapes a woman to get away with and impregnates her and he can choose whether or not to allow her to get an abortion. That's stupid.

The man doesn't have to suffer the problems that come with pregnancy.

He wants the damn baby then he can get pregnant an deal withit

If they are married, not separated/estranged/divorced, I'm inclined to say yes....

That's interesting. I didn't know that. It would complicate things, eh?

I change my answer to no, then, I suppose.

Some states (like NJ) don't have a legal seperation. Just saying....

Quoting epoh:

Yes, unless they are separated.

I'm going to say no on this. If your married to some dickhead and you need an abortion to save your life, it shouldn't be his decision. Too much gray area for me.

Okay married women can be raped by their husbands. Especially if the husband is abusive.

Again, yes. All desicions regarding our life together are mutual, although I would never get an abortion anyway.

Yes, it does happen, but it's not common.

Yes, I'm conflicted on it too. I originally said yes and changed it to no. There is a lot of gray area.

I would never get married if that meant a man could have any say over my body.
