Fixing my schedule

I need to fix my schedule, I have a hard time falling asleep before 12-2 am and I'm usually up by about 9 am sometimes later, depending on when DS gets up and if DH is home and gets up with him. I want to start getting up earlier and going to bed earlier, and getting a little more sleep in.
But I can never seem to get tired earlier, I've tried several things including waking up earlier (at the same time every day) and I was tired through out the day and than still couldn't get to sleep until around the same time. I need to figure something out.. Anyone have suggestions?

I haven't found any tea that I like yet. I exercise about 5 days a week and shower in the morning to wake me up some

Celestial Seasonings makes sleepytime tea with valerian(sp?). It works really well. It has a slightly sweet flavor to it. It costs $3.50 a box. They also make regular sleepytime tea (same company) for $2 a box.

I'll have to look and see what the kind is that I bought, if not, I'll have to see if I can find it and give it a try.

Have you tried melatonin? It's all natural and works amazingly

I've basically cut out most sugars, only every so often I'll have something with lunch like a fun-sized candy bar but since I'm trying to lose weight I cut most of it out.

My dh uses the melatonin and it has done wonders-take 20 minutes before you want to go to bed--it is natural

No, I've been hesitant on taking anything extra right now unless the doc prescribes it because I've had a lot going on health wise and am waiting to see a specialist about my hormones, I havent even taken Tylenol (but that's because I'm on antibiotics for the next week and now percocet.  Once I finish those I have to start my other medicine)

My nurse told me to not watch TV or go on cafemom (gasp!) for at least 30 minutes before bed time. Apparently, staring at a big bright light (TV/Phone/computer) right before trying to sleep us counter productive. I started listening to books on tape with my eyes closed for a bit before bed...and I doze right off at bed time.

I also, when not pregnant, use melatonin of my schedule gets off and need to reset it.
