is it really that strange to check on your sleeping kids multiple times a night?

I never thought it was, and now, I am even more convinced it is not strange or weird. A few days ago, someone posted about this, and a lot of you seemed to think it was wierd to check on sleeping children, especially ones out of infancy, while they sleep. Well, over the weekend a colleague of my mine put her 2 year old daughter to bed, and awoke to find her having a seizure. The baby did not survive.

That's so sad. :( I don't check on mine multiple times a night, largely because they are very light sleepers, and if I do, it'll wake them up.

This. And even check on the older two while I'm up in the middle of the night with baby.

A warning on this post would be nice. My son has seizures, and I wasn't prepared for this. I NEVER read posts with warnings that a child has been murdered, beaten, died, etc.

Thanks.
