seriously? Only southern folk.....

Ok, myabe other people not from the south would enjoy this....

I recently received a "southern style" cook book from my MIL (they are from Georgia). I was just thumbing through and come across this recipe:

Fried Squirrel.

Now, who knows, maybe this really is a delicious dish. I wouldnt know since I have never tried it and never really wanted to. However, I am wondering where one would actually get squirrel in order to fry it. I am pretty darn sure I have never seen this at the butcher block at the local Stater Bros (or Krogers, Vons, Albertsons, Aldi's, Publix, etc)

My husband fixed some rabbit and squirl one day he shot in the yard! I don't remember what I tried but maybe would have been ok if it was over cooked and dry!

You trap it. Or you shoot it's head off with a .22 or pellet gun. They are quite yummy!

Oh and yes you catch the squirrel or go squirrel hunting with a gun. Not a big bullet gun mind ya, cause honey ya gotta have some meat left on them bones.

It very well could be the most tasty thing I would have ever tasted, but unless I can buy in the store, I have no desire to try it. I wouldnt even know where to begin to skinning it, if I somehow managed to catch one

I saw this on tv, some family said they loved it. They hunted their own though!

Lol

Quoting Mrs.Miller11:

LOL, well that is just too much damn effort. I dont really like the idea of having to work that hard for my food. Thats why I shop at the grocery store. =)

You kill it like you would a deer and it's good by the way
