I love reading about the Amish. They have such a simple life, I think so much less stress. And they forgive everyone. That is a true Christian. They forgave the man who shot up their school a few years ago killing several kids.  I respect the Amish.

The Amish have always fascinated me.I'm trying to talk dh into going to Pennsylvania this summer.

I just thought I would clarify that Amish is not a religion, but a lifestyle. If you are building a house and leave lumber or materials at the job site, but not touching the building they will take it. They also clog up roadways at night having drunken parties in their buggies. I wish I were exaggerating, but I'm not. They also "borrow" tack out of barns without permission, and all sorts of things that I don't think a "Christian" would do.

I've watched it, but I live in Amish county, and already know a lot about them. We bought our house from an Amish couple, our daughter's swingset was custom made by them, and we have an Amish boy who works for us doing odd jobs. He's saving up money to buy his own buggy- which means he's about ready to get married and start his own family. They are an amazing bunch of people, and will do anything in the world for you.

I lived near some growing up and took many field trips for school into "amish country" in pennsylvania.  Just like other cultures, there are good ones and bad ones.
