I don't. If I can't find a parking space right next to the cart return I just load all of the groceries in the car, and take DS with me to return the cart. Now with another baby on the way it seems like I am going to be parking in the boondocks to insure I get a space right next to the cart return LOL.

ETA- kids, as in babies, as in not able to get out of the car say under 5.

No, but I always go the store with DH for big orders. When I don't go with DH I don't get much I just carry my groceries.

You people that don't return carts are lazy, self-centered assholes.  Yep, I said it.  "Like" if you agree with me.

I have NEVER not returned a cart to either the corral or the store.  Pouring rain, snow, hurt knee, baby with me... it's common decency.

I usually try to park near the return corrals.  If I have one child I can carry her, but with two (2 1/2 and under) they are safer in the car for 10 seconds than in the parking lot.

Wait.... you're NOT supposed to leave them in the cart?

nope - babies always go with me.  I wouldn't leave them alone until they were 5.

Depends where we are, what the weathers like, how far I have to go to return the cart.

Today it was pouring rain when when we left the grocery store and the kids werent dressed for it, so I buckled the kids 3.5 and 1 in the van, then loaded groceries, locked the van and made a mad dash to the cart return.

It depends in the weather. If it's nice I park anywhere and take him with me to return it. If it's bad weather I park next to a cart corrall and put him in the car first.

Quoting Paperfishies:

I always try to park right next to one...if I don't park next to one, then I don't put it in the car return.  I'm not leaving my kids in a car, even for 1 minute when it is 90 degrees out.

You could just take them with you.
