Severe Thunderstorms & Tornadoes

Despite currently sunny skies with only patchy cloud cover, there is a 70% chance of thunderstorms this evening in NE Ohio. The possibility of severe thunderstorms and even a tornado were discussed in the weather report for today. The Weather Channel has given us (NE Ohio) a 3 on the TOR:CON index, meaning there is a 30% chance a tornado will develop within 50 miles. Due to my morbid fascination with tornadoes, I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of these storms.

It is currently 81 degrees and partly cloudy in Warren, Ohio.

What is the weather like where you live? Do you like thunderstorms?

Love thunderstorms.  We're about 5 miles from mountains.  Our part of the city is literally too close to get tornados.  However, 10, 15 miles east of us, they do get tornadoes fairly regularly.

If I lived in either of the two areas I'd like to (Monterey, California, or near the California coastal redwoods in NorCal), I'd never see a tornado again.

Yep! We dont really get tornadoes here. The metroparks tend to keep them out since theres so many elevation changes. Ive seen a few waterspouts on the lake though.

It's gray and cloudy here in SoCal. I'm anxiously awaiting my first big thunderstorm when we move to Tennessee in August.

I live in Oklahoma and grew up close to the gulf of mexico. I am used to storms that produce tornados lol. Currently it is 82 and partly cloudy. only alert we have is high pollen count.
