What's the going rate for a 4yr old 5 days a week from 8-4 these days?

I have a friend saying $75/day.
375/week?!
I found a great daycare for him for $457/month.

She insists she's a lot cheaper.

So tell me, what's the going rate usually?

Ha Ha, no it would not be $75 a day.  Currently daycare for my 3 yr old is $144 a week, so that would be around $28 a day.

depends on what state you're in... i'm in chicago, nannying for 2 yr old twins 4 days a week making $12 hr and that's on the lower end of the scale; i know nanny friends who make way more....

There is a difference between a sitter a nanny and daycare. There is even a difference between a sitter in your home, and one in her home.

AND prices vary greatly by area. best thing to do is look online-there are usually average prices posted on line. Call up some centers, and look on craigslist to see what people are charging.
