If someone told you that they had nothing positive to say about your child, how would you feel, and what would this make you think??

The reason for asking this question, my boyfriend of 6 years told me last night that he has nothing positive to say about my 16 year old son.  It really bothered me and I told him that by saying that he means he dosen't like my son at all.

How would it make you feel and what would you think?  What should I do?

Listen to why he dont have anything positive to say. With alot of 16 yr olds, it can be true. Sad, but true. As his mom, it is harder for you to see what others see. Just sayin.....

How I felt would depend on the age on the child. I'd also want to know why they felt that way.

And how would my son feel seeing his mother stay with a man who feels this way.

It would make me feel awful. I couldn't be with someone who didn't care about and like my child. I just couldn't, UNLESS my child had been completely awful to them, and even then, it would be really hard.

Well I would ask him why he felt that way. I honestly couldnt put a man before my kids. Even if my dh felt this way, I don't think I couldn't stand to be with him if he felt this strongly about our kids. I can understand teens are difficult but it would bother me a lot.

How does ur child treat ur bf? How does ur child act? All this plays a part in how ur bf feels. I can relate because Im the same way with my 17yr old ss but that because he is lazy, disrespectful, has no motivation to go get a job, is failing school. So ask ur bf y he says that.

I'd be hurt and upset and prob not talk to my DF for quit some time.. If he has felt that way about your son, why is it now he is saying something? Why is it he had to wait for so long before something was said. If he had said something sooner, maybe the two of you could have worked something out to make him see how great your son really is. Sorry mama that is just harsh I'd be very hurt.
