Do you hate when people mispronounce your kids names? Edit
My sons name is Leland sounds like Lee-lin. So stop emphasizing the d. It's not Lee-land. It's so annoying.
Edit. It's the strong emphasis on the d that annoys me or when they say Le-Land. Most people say it right but some don't no matter how much I correct them. Watch the video. A few seconds in dog says Leland's name. Notice no heavy emphasis on the d. That's how my sons name is pronounced.

Its a little hard to mess up Alexis, Timothy, or Payton.
I did that on purpose because I have a screwed up name and hate it.
I have an Alexis and she gets called Alexia a lot. LOL

My DDs name is Taliah.... Tal-ya (the first a is like apple).... We call her Tali, like a tally mark :) ... But yea... When.people just read her name, they always say.it wrong.... Lol
People have butchered my name before. Erin-Mellett...8-I get Erin-Millett ALL the time. So I mostly go by Em or Emmie.
Cian throws people for a loop. We get Shawn, See In, Kane... Kane (Cain) is the.biggest one.
Maybe it's just the weird people around here because my name is Ann and I've been called Amy quite a bit, too! Haha!
Quoting kaysha:
Oh wow. My Alexis is almost 8 and never has anyone messed it up.

really it depends on how people pronounce things.....LelanD, LelaN....they aren't doing anything wrong, neither did you....it is just preference. I pronounce the D on the end of names like Leland and Raymond, some don't.
Christ you cant expect people to jut know that!!
Anyways: my dds name is ryland and in the era of Rileys so is always called Riley
