I've got a basil plant and just planted tomato plants! I can't wait for them to start giving tomatoes so I don't have to keep buying them.

Same here. I can't even grow a bean sprout in a greenhouse without it sprouting, shriveling and dying. :-(

I'm hoping I don't manage to kill them. I so do not have a green thumb. I would really like to have lettace and onions, but I don't know anything about growing them. Even green peppers. I would really like to be self-sufficient with my veggies, but I'm in a townhouse and don't have a ton of space.

I do it every year. I have my heirloom tomatoes, banana peppers, strawberries, blackberries and corn.

Cantaloupe, basil, and Dutch Butter Beans (a variety meant to be used as dry beans).  I "garden" in containers, LOL.  Most of the produce we eat comes from our CSA.  :-)
