is it normal for a 3 yr old to be scared of so many things? *piogs*
My son is afraid of many many things. Like I never seen a kid that afraid. Is that normal? He has always been this way. He will be 4 in oct.
Examples
Bath poofs
Thunder(understandable)
Vaccumes(sp?)
Trains
Fire pits(even when no fire)
Shovels
Masks(not even scary ones)
Fish
Swings
Those are ones I can think on the top of my head
My dd who is 2 is not even this scared of things :(.

My dd was very anxious about a lot of things for a while. She has grown out of most of it. She is 4.5 now. I tried to not make a big deal of it while also letting her know it was ok to be nervous/afraid. A lot of what she was anxious about was noises so I tried to reach her coping strategies like covering her ears or singing a song to herself or something.

That seems a little strange but all kids are different. Take him to the dr and see what they say.

It sounds like he might have sensory processing disorder. If you google it and click on the main website for the disorder they have a WONDERFUL checklist to see if your son may have it. My son did, had a year of therapy, and functions much more normally now - almost all of his fears are gone

My 3 year old is scared of a lot too. Mainly loud unfamiliar noises. He will scream bloody murder if a bug gets near him too. We live in NC, so you can imagine how much he screams and cries. lol.

This... But i wouldnt worry to much now. Just ask him why but dont show himthe things hes scared of. When my daughter was scared of the vacuum i made her touch it when it was off then i let her play with it. Eventually when it was on she wasnt scared she knew thats the only way to clean the carpet.
