I cant not make a meatloaf for the life of me!  It always falls apart to where it just looks like ground beef!  Please someone has to have a idea of what the heck is wrong with what I am doing.

Heres what I do:

1 pound of ground meat

1 cup bread crumbs

1 egg

ketchup

diced onion, green peper, and tomatoes

salt, paper, garlic

That's a lot of breadcrumbs.  I'd try backing off a little on those.

1 mom liked this

I think thats too much crumbs for only 1 lb meat. Dont over work it when mixing, do it until just combined.

I have a killer meat loaf recipe if you like your meat savory yet sweet. My family loves it if you want it I will give you the recipe. Even my 5 yr old eats it and he's not a meat eater.

I switched to 1/2 ground turkey & 1/2 turkey italian sausage cut out of skin. No body cared it was turkey. It wasn't floating in grease. It held its shape & was yummy. I left out ketchup though and added a little cooked rice. I also use it for stuffed peppers. Tastes great!

What kind of meat? Its best to use something fairly lean or the grease will make it fall apart. If you cant use leaner beef add more bread to help soak up the extra grease.
