 last night I made homemade eggrolls, with cabbage, shredded broccoli and vegetarian chicken, sliced raw yellow squash from my garden with homemade ranch dressing and Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness to drink...this morning the kids had Cherios and milk, with Cranberry Blueberry juice, for lunch they will have whole wheat pasta salad, with tomatoes and cucumber from our garden, feta cheese and oil and vinegar dressing...and yeah, we get $175 a month in Foodstamps because my husband and ss are disabled and I have been laid off for a year...why do people feel the need to brag they feed their kids crap on the Government dime? I do my best to feed my kids well, and supplement our menu with a large garden...I dont want my kids to grow up fat like me, i want them to be healthy and make good food choices...

eggrolls

$1.79 for 20 eggroll wraps

$1.19 for 2 pound cabbage

50cents for broccoli stems (whole head was 99cents, I used the florets in a different meal)

 $1.74 for 2 cups of oil (which will be reused)

2 carrots free from my garden

half a bag of Quorn chicken $2.50=

eggrolls that cost 38cents apiece

 we use Quorn brand Chick'n Chunks http://www.quorn.com/

  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large clove garlic (or two small), minced
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh dill (or 1/2 tsp dried) (from my garden)
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh parsley (or 1/2 tsp dried) (from my garden)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • freshly cracked pepper, to taste
  • Whisk all ingredients together and store in a glass jar or other sealed container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

    Why do you feel the need to brag that you feed your children what you feed them on the government's dime?
