The month of May is the Nerofibromatosis awarness month.

One of the major signs are cafe au lait spots (flat brown spots on the skin).

Please research this disorder!

I have this disorder myself.

Yes, I do. I have gamma globulin deficiency. I was born with it and have survived to age 40 so far. They told my parents I wouldn't make it to the age of two.

Without gamma globulin, your body cannot fight off illness, even simple ones. You rage with fever and symptoms until you subcumb from the fever or the illness. I could die at any moment from a simple sinus infection without the shots I take monthly to keep me alive. The shots are 3000 a pop, so for me to live, it's 36,000 a year JUST for the shots, not including the drugs I have to take for Asthma and other problems.

We have celiacs disease, lupus and colon cancer. Im 99% positive I have celiacs and also want to get tested for lupus.

Hubbies side has lupus as well. Both children have been checked and so far the tests have been negative (although that doesnt mean much).

 i don't have a disease.

i am a carrier for alpha 1 anti trypsin. I knew i could be possibly, seeing as how my mothers sister died from emphysema in her early 30s. My mom and all her siblings were tested and out of the 8,4 of them were carriers, one of them my mother. I never thought to be tested myself.  I didn't think anything of it really.

my son was diagnosed with anti trypsin. Apparently, DH is also a carrier.

:(
