HELP!

4yo is at the table sobbing because I really want him to try just one bite of his sandwich. It's just turkey and a little bit of mayo.

Should I make him try a bite? OR let him go?

He hasn't had anything since breakfast. Getting him to eat is a chore!

PS- He wants ice cream instead, lol.

Update: He's eating the dang sandwich now. He REALLY wants that ice cream, lmao.

...and it's gone. He ended up liking it. Now he's eating his ice cream like a happy camper.

Let him go. If he doesn't want it then leave it at that. No good can come from forcing food upon a child. Trust me, I know from experience.

I agree, but  NO ICECREAM or junkfood until he eats a healthy meal.  He will eventually get hungry enough to eat.

Does he not like the bread and mayo???

If so why not  just take the bread off and wipe the mayo off and roll up the meat and let him eat it like that

He just is being difficult. He's eaten it before, he just wants to be stubborn. He'll eat beef ramen until he's blue in the face, but I don't give that to him all the time.

Tell him that he won't get Ice cream unless he eats his sandwich.

Maybe give him one bite of ice cream for one bite of sandwich.  I'm no help - I don't eat what I don't like and I don't make my kids eat what they don't like.  I have one that hate mayo and he eats his sandwiches plain.
