why don't more people have pre-paid phones?
I was wondering what the perks are on a contract phone? I've had two (Nextel and Verizon) and pre-paid is so much cheaper (and you get more for your money). Right now I pay $50 a month for unlimited everything, I have an Android phone, and once you make so many on time payments the cost goes down to $35/month (normally it's $40 for the Android but I started with an older phone and they told me I don't have to switch plans).
What is so great about a contract phone?

Because I hate paying for phones out of pocket.
Bf and I travel a lot too so it doesn't work for our international adventures.

Yeah, I have an iPhone also lol. I don't think I could ever switch. Although $35-50 a month sure sounds better then the $100 a month I spend.

We have a contract, because we were able to get a huge discount through the city my hubsnad works for. We have two smartphones with unlimited everything, and we pay about $40, and it is automatically deducted from his check.
Getting hot again!

I'm seriously considering switching to pre paid. We have Verizon now & the bill just keeps getting higher. How does the prepaid work?

I have pre-paid. I pay $60 per month for unlimited text, talk and web and I have great service all on my smartphone. I have to admit though, contract phones have cooler phones. I don't think you can get a iphone with prepaid unless you want to pay full price for it.
