Pregnant, have 1 child, hungry, help!
She looked to be about 6-7 months along. I have medical assistance for my pregnancy because I am medically un-insurable and we lost our medical coverage. They are constantly calling me asking if I want to try to apply for FS, WIC, free baby clothing, free crib, free taxi service to my Drs appointments, all of these programs. Each time I decline them because I don't have a genuine need for these programs, DH makes a good salary and even trying to enroll in these programs would be taking advantage of resources even if we qualified income wise which we so don't I still would only apply if I REALLY NEEDED them. It just baffles me that this woman is begging on the street with a hungry sign when there are so many programs out there! Literally 30 seconds before I saw her I was digging in my purse looking for a nail file and found 5 bucks I didn't know I had. When I saw her and she came right up to my window with her sign I just felt so bad for her children so I gave it to her. How she uses it who knows but I sincerely hope with all the help that is offered here in MD that she takes it and doesn't abuse it.

That was only the short list, they also ask you if you are in an abusive situation and tell you that if you are they have programs to help you get into a safe living environment ect, free vision, free dental, free parenting classes, free nutrition classes. There are more but my brain is pregnancy mush. When the Nurse case manager told me about all of these programs I was like wow! They EVEN give you 20 dollars for just going to your first Drs appointment, and for every x amount of regular prenatal appointments you go to they give you a baby gift or another 20 dollars in the form of a gift card! I guess some women need to be bribed into going to their appointments. idk

Even if she was a druggie or scammer, I couldn't in all good conscious pass her by especially when I had just found that 5 bucks. As a Muslim if someone says to me I am hungry please help I have to to whatever degree I am able. I found that 5 bucks for a reason at that exact time and I just knew I had to do it. However she uses it I have no control over at least I followed my conscious.

How can I take three children to the store by myself? I have never done this but my husband says he won't go anymore.
