Mold and mildew problems :(

Hey ladies! So we have been having a little bit of a mold issue in our... ok so its not a little, but it only happens in the summer and only on one side of the house. Last year it got so bad, that we had to move out, and we got it cleaned. All winter it was fine and the mold was gone, but now with the summer and humidity its coming back again. I've been turning on a dehumidefier (sp?), opening the windows, turning on the fans and cleaning it with bleach almost every other day. I have no idea what to do to get rid of this problem, and I can't afford to bring in a company again or move.
Has anyone else ever had this problem?
What did you do? What can I do to make it go away?

Are you renting or do you own the place? Mold comes with moisture issues and if it's a reoccurring problem, there's not a whole lot you can do other than continue to get it cleaned, have someone come in and investigate the problem to fix it or move.

Idk for sure but have you tried bleach? Did the company you used last year give a guarantee? Is your home still under warrenty? Does your insurance cover mold damage? ... I'm Thinking there might be a hidden leak... You gotta find the source or the problem will just get worse.

We are in the process of owning. But everything is still under my dads name until we get it switched over :(

1 mom liked this

DO NOT CLEAN IT WITH BLEACH. That is far worse than actually having the mold.

You need to call a mold specialist to come and take care of it.Whetehr you can afford it or not, thats your only option.

Also STOP using fans...fans will spread it.

My husband is a mold specialist and works in mold remediation, without someone who is licensed you won't know what kind of mold it is and what the proper procedure is.

I spray and clean with bleach about 3 times a week and do daily checks. No warranty, but they said there was chance it would come back. No issues in the foundation and we got new carpeting last month. The company said that it is a common problem in the area we live, also the house is pretty old. Built in 1910. Idk, maybe I just have to keep doing what I'm doing... but it gets tiring and I just want a miracle to happen lol
