Today I went and had lunch with DD who is in preschool. One of the boys in her class tipped his lunch tray and the top bun of his chicken sandwich fell on the floor. The teachers aide picked it up, put it back on his sandwich and told him to sit down... I was kind of shocked. When I picked DD up this afternoon, I told his mom about it and she was pissed! I wasn't trying to get the lady in trouble, but seriously.. who does that?

In my own home, yeah. I clean the heck out of my floors though. In public no way.

At home yes per the 5 second rule anywhere else ( like a public place ) no. However last summer when we were at the zoo dd dropped a fruit snack on the ground, before I could tell her not to pick it up, she ate it. It grossed me out but hey I'm sure it helped her immune system out some. Hell it can't be any worse than when she was a dirt and worm eater

5 second rule, for my own kids. Unless the floor is obviously gross. But if I were helping someone else's kid I wouldn't take any chances just incase the other mom would be upset

There is no such thing as the 5 second rule!!!! As soon as food hits the floor there is over 400 differents germs on there especially on the floor of a lunch room in a preschool! May as well have had the kid lick the toilet!

A new lunch would've been nice but at LEAST a new bun. In the time it took her to pick it up, put it back on his sandwich and told him what to do... she could've grabbed a fresh bun & that sandwich would be half eaten. That is just wrong... public floors are SO DIRTY! Especially cafeterias! Most of them double as gyms! Eeeew -.-
