Was laying in bed and was roused by the smell of smoke/burning. The smell is somewhere between the third bedroom and second bathroom. Condo below me is vacant. Checked it out, can't see any lights or anything... No smoke. Door isn't hot. I'm weirded out. Not really sure what to do...

Wait to see if you continue to smell it.
If you do then call non emergency dispatch and explain to them what it going on. Tell them you want a police officer ad fire crew to just check it out.

If you smell smoke something must be burning somewhere. I would check it out further.

It smells like.... A curling iron that's been left on. (of course it's not...not in my place anyway) maybe a burnt fuse?
I can still smell it (my sense of smell is very sensitive ) but it hasn't gotten stronger at least.

I would call the non emergency line or emergency line since it could be an electrical line in the wall.

It doesn't hurt to call the fire dept to come check it out. Better safe than sorry! CALL NOW!

We had that, drove me nuts, turns out one of the fans in the furnace blew and it was coming through the vents. Needed to fix the furnace cause it would overheat and shut off (so it didn't start a fire)... This was middle of winter too.

oh man, this happened to me on night, but I live in a house, it was 4:30am.. I looked all over, went outside, couldnt smell it in the front, went around back and smelled it really strong coming from f=down the alley.. I got in my van and drove down the alley, I was a fraid one of my neighbors houses was on fire...nope, two houses down I caught my neighbor barbequing in his tighty whities
