Diaper Rash Advice Desparately Needed Please! *pics*

I have never had any issues with diaper rashes with my previous 2 kids(luckily). But ever since my DS has started teething he has been getting them constantly. We keep him creamed and powdered up and for the most part the rashes go away. Except for these 2 spots that won't seem to heal. They look like open wounds and sometimes clear ooze will seep from them. I try to keep him clean and let him go without his diaper for a few hours everyday but the bad areas just won't get better! He doesn't cry when I change or wipe him. But then again, he never cries. Even when things that would normally make other kids scream(i.e. falling off the couch, hitting head on coffee table, etc etc). Since I have no experiences with diaper rashes, especially bad ones, I need some advice! What else can I be doing to help heal this? Is there a better cream than what I am using(I use butt creme and have tried desitin)? Any and all advice will be welcomed! TIA

He is only 7mnths and still on formula and cereal. I always used generic diapers with my DD's and they worked fine so I was using them for DS at first. But when he started to get older and the pee more I realized the generics didn't work as well on him so I switched to Luvs.

how old is he? my dd #3 was/is allergic to food seasonings. (wierd, huh?) it took the pedi and I a year to figure it out; she had similar rashes all the time. The other thing is, have you tried switching diaper brands? And last q: is that where his poop usually is? If so, he is most likely allergic to something. the trick is figuring out what.

give him a bath with vinegar and baking soda.  let him dry  really well before you put on any diaper rash ointment.  OUr Dr. said to even blow dry on low his bottom gently before you put on the cream.(just keep it far away so it doesn't get to hot.)  He may need to run around without any diaper on and just get some air. If this doesnt clear it up, call the Dr. who may call in something for you...like nystatin powder,  but always make sure he is very dry before putting on the creams.

i use grandma els

you can get it on amazon or a local drug store ( mine does not carry)

it is the only thing that works for my kids it is all natural and u can actualy eat it if u wanted

i used it at EVERY diper change ( just a tiny amt) and we never had rash issues

i used it on my friends baby and it cleared up a nasty rash with in a day or two.

good luck!

this too.... I watch a little boy during the week who can only wear HEB brand diapers or certain pampers but, anything else cause similar sores that only get worse over time.

Looks like a yeast rash. You can buy lotramin OTC and apply it 3-4x a day, make sure you change the diaper as soon as it gets wet. If the rash does not clear up in a week I would take him in cause he might possibly need prescription strength cream

Defintely cornstarch! When my dd was a baby she got this horrible all over her bottom and vagina, so bad that when I went to wipe her it would instantly bleed terribly! I've heard that if you fry and egg and let it cool all the way you can put that in the diaper and it absorbs the yeast out of the rash, but I never did that I used pure 100% cornstarch and alot of it and in a few days it was gone! Don't use any kind of soap in the tub when giving a bath, and wipe off all cornstarch with very diaper change and repeat everytime. GL
